Description
Civil parish. Hundred of Penwith to 1834. Penzance Poor Law Union, 1834-1930. Part in Penzance Rural Sanitary District, 1875-1894, and part in Hayle Urban Sanitary District, 1875-1894. Abolished in 1894, the part in Penzance Rural Sanitary District being used to create the parish of St Erth Rural and the part in Hayle Urban Sanitary District being used to create the parish of St Erth Urban. The parish was recreated in 1934 by the renaming of St Erth Rural. West Penwith Rural District, 1934-1974. Penwith District, 1974-2009. Hayle and St Ives Community Network, 2009-present.
