Description
Civil parish, created in 1934 from the union of the parishes of Gwinear, 4,647 acres, and Gwithian, 2,418 acres. West Penwith Rural District, 1934-1974. Penwith District, 1974-2009. Hayle and St Ives Community Network, 2009-present. The parish was reduced in 1935 when 3 acres were transferred to the parish of Hayle.
Camborne Parliamentary Division, 1934-1948. Falmouth and Camborne Parliamentary Constituency, 1948-2010. Camborne and Redruth Parliamentary Constituency, 2010-present.
