Ecclesiastical parish. Archdeaconry of Cornwall. Deanery of Kerrier to 1875; Deanery of Carnmarth, 1875-1915; Deanery of Carnmarth North, 1915-present. The parish was reduced in 1829 when part was taken to create the parish of St Day; the parish was further reduced in 1844 when part was taken to create the parish of Lanner. The parish is a United Benefice with the parish of St Stithians with Perran-ar-worthal.

Hundred of Kerrier, with a small part, including Scorrier, Treskerby and Tolgullow, in the Hundred of Penwith. Gwennap, St Day, Carharrack and Lanner civil parishes.
