Modern ecclesiastical parish, created in 1948 from part of the parish of Lelant. Archdeaconry of Cornwall. Deanery of Penwith. The boundary of the parish was altered in 1969 when the area surrounding Trelyon in St Ives was transferred to Carbis Bay. The parish is a United Benefice with Lelant.
Hundred of Penwith. St Ives and Ludgvan civil parishes.
